There is something timeless about family photos taken in nature. Tall trees, earthy textures, and a space for kids to just be kids. This family session took place at a quiet creekside park in Bountiful, Utah, and it was the perfect setting for relaxed, candid moments.
Instead of stiff poses, we focused on connection. Walking through the trees, letting their little one explore, and allowing pauses for real-life moments (like dad hanging back and taking it all in). These are the kinds. of sessions that feel less like a photoshoot and more like a slow afternoon together. That is my goal for family photos.
Bountiful is one of my favorite areas in Davis County for family photography because it offers a beautiful mix of natural scenery while still being easy for families with young kids to access.
What to wear for creekside family photos
Creekside and wooded locations photograph best when outfits complement the natural tones rather than compete with them. For this session, the family chose warm, neutral colors that blended beautifully with the trees and ground cover.
Here are a few tips when planning outfits for creekside family photos:
